Happy International Crochet day!

12th September 2024 is International Crochet Day… who knew? And I thought it was a good time to start the blog I have been talking about writing for the past – so many- years.

I have been thinking of writing a blog for some time, to convert my instagram posts into more chunky pieces of writing and creating an outlet for all the crochet musings that circle my head!

I am Debs. I have curly hair, I am a mother of 3 gorgeous children and I love to crochet and workout in the gym. Hard to introduce yourself to a blank page of text, so I thought about what would other people say about me. I have been crocheting for many years now, I first learnt from my mum in my teens but I never really got into it until adult life. Then after the birth of my first child I became really hooked, pardon the pun.

I first began making little knitted and crochet baby bootees which I framed and added personalisation to before framing them as gifts. When people started noticing them, I shared on social media and I made my first 6 sales that Christmas! From then, I have created heaps of crochet! I have made crochet for sale, attended craft fairs, hosted workshops, crocheted for charity and mainly I have crocheted gifts for friends, family and colleagues.

I am hosting a blog so I can share my love and passion, and hopefully inspire you to pick up a hook too! Through this blog I will show you my favourite tools, patterns, techniques and tips so you can become hooked as I am, and the community can continue to grow!
